Seeking peace through struggle leads to peace enduring; seeking peace through compromise leads to peace's demise—Israel boldly reignites the Gaza conflict, and Hamas's surrender and compromise agreements are shattered.

Late at night on March 18th, Gaza local time, while most Palestinian masses were still asleep, Israeli bandits’ bombs fell on their heads. The Israeli gang unilaterally tore up the Gaza ceasefire agreement that had lasted less than two months since January 19th, launching reckless attacks on multiple areas of Gaza, including Khan Yunis and Rafah in the south, Gaza City in the north, and Deir al-Balah in the central region, causing nearly 600 deaths, over 900 injuries, half of whom are women and children: 200 children and 111 women died under Israeli bombs. Within days, the Israeli ground invasion forces launched massive assaults from the north of Gaza City, and from Rafah in central and southern Gaza, quickly reoccupying and expanding the Nizratim corridor area that divides Gaza north and south. Meanwhile, in the West Bank under the control of the Palestinian comprador government Fatah (whose sphere of influence is essentially the territory controlled by Israel), Israeli military police and Zionist settler colonists protected by the former (Israeli colonial expansion groups) crazily attacked Palestinian people, demolishing their homes. In just the first two months of 2025, there were 139 attack incidents, with even 14 children murdered by bandits.  After the attacks, the Israeli gang’s arrogance soared. Netanyahu, the gang leader, brazenly declared that this attack was “just the beginning,” and the Israeli Ministry of Defense threatened that “if (Hamas) does not release hostages, Israel will continue to occupy more territory in Gaza and achieve permanent control,” openly showing its ambition to swallow the entire Gaza. The U.S. Trump administration also repeatedly blamed Hamas for reigniting the war, with the U.S. UN ambassador even claiming that “the resumption of hostile actions is entirely due to Hamas.”  Who exactly destroyed the ceasefire agreement? Looking at the actions of both sides over the past two months, it is clear at a glance how shamelessly the mouthpieces of U.S. imperialism invert black and white at this critical moment. I previously wrote in my article “Glorious Victory or Shameful Compromise? An Analysis of the Substance of the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement” about the content of the ceasefire agreement since January 19th:
First, let’s look at the agreement itself. Al Jazeera reprinted the specific content of the ceasefire agreement [8]. The entire ceasefire agreement is divided into the so-called “three phases.” In the first phase, Hamas must hand over 33 prisoners and hostages, but Israel is vague on key ceasefire issues, only promising to withdraw from the population centers of Gaza, not including the complete withdrawal from the so-called “Nazarim corridor” and “Fatah corridor” (“Nazarim corridor” separates Gaza north and south, and “Fatah corridor” separates Gaza from Egypt, preventing Gaza from receiving external aid and blocking passage in both directions), to end Gaza’s division, siege, and difficulty in contact with the outside world. In the second phase, Hamas must hand over all prisoners and hostages, but Israel only promises to “release more Palestinian prisoners” and vaguely promises “full withdrawal.” More critically, the third phase, which involves post-war regime issues, does not mention Hamas at all and blatantly reveals imperialist ambitions to intervene in Gaza—“under international supervision” for reconstruction plans.
After signing this shameful compromise agreement, Hamas still complied. During the two months of ceasefire, Hamas honored the agreement, stopping fire and releasing 33 Israeli hostages. However, Israel demanded that Hamas completely give up armed resistance during the second phase negotiations, and from the very first prisoner exchange in February, they began to play tricks. After Hamas transferred 6 hostages, Netanyahu delayed the release of over 600 Palestinian prisoners. Israel also completely violated the ceasefire agreement, launching multiple provocations during the two-month ceasefire, brutally killing over 100 Palestinians. Undoubtedly, Israel showed no sincerity in the ceasefire, but Zionist gangsters repeatedly crossed bottom lines, even planning to abandon the original plan altogether and issuing a “temporary ceasefire outline” drafted by U.S. special envoy Wittkopf. This temporary agreement unreasonably extended the first phase (which only involves partial withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, not including the “Nazarim corridor” and “Fatah corridor” areas, thus not ending Israel’s occupation of Gaza) until April, demanding Hamas immediately release more than half of the total hostages to fulfill this new agreement. This is clearly Israeli shameless extortion. After Hamas refused this new agreement, Israel launched a sudden attack, cutting off aid supplies into Gaza, blocking all food, fuel, and other supplies, and cutting off Gaza’s electricity, causing water treatment plants that supply millions of residents with drinking water to cease operation, attempting to starve Gaza into submission.  In recent attacks, Israeli gang forces committed countless heinous crimes. According to the Palestinian Children’s Protection Organization, on March 10th, two children aged only 7 and 13 in the West Bank were arrested by Israeli forces while visiting their grandparents’ home. The brutal Israeli soldiers forced them to strip naked in the cold outdoors, tied their hands with electrical cable ties, and then took them away for detention. Their grandmother had already been shot dead earlier when she went out. On the night of the 18th, a Gaza resident witnessed Israeli bombs taking the lives of a family of 26, including women, children, and the elderly. On the 21st, Israeli forces completely destroyed a specialized cancer hospital in Gaza, making the already difficult medical system in Gaza even harder to handle the large number of casualties.  Why are the reactionary forces of the U.S. and Israel so eager to restart the war? Fascism is a manifestation of the bourgeoisie’s weakness. The armed struggle of the Palestinian people and the opposition of the world’s people are causing the U.S. and Israeli reactionaries’ conspiracy to enslave the Palestinian people to fail completely. But reactionaries always continue to cause trouble. This war is precisely their frantic counterattack unwilling to accept defeat. For Israel, ongoing war causes its economy to decline, domestic anti-war movements to rise, class contradictions to intensify, and serious crises within the ruling coalition. Opponents use the hostage issue as an excuse to criticize Netanyahu’s government, launching investigations into corruption and bribery. Meanwhile, the most radical fascists within Netanyahu’s camp refuse to cease fire, threatening to withdraw from Netanyahu’s governing coalition, forcing him to continue war to resolve his unfavorable situation. For U.S. imperialism, supported by American monopoly capital, Trump’s administration has long coveted the Middle East’s abundant oil and raw materials, seeking to expand its colonial reach in the region. Shortly after Trump took office, he announced plans to “take over” Gaza, crazily demanding the expulsion of over two million Palestinians living there. Since March 15th, the U.S. has also bombed Yemen, citing Houthi attacks on Israeli ships in the Red Sea under its control.  “Fighting for peace through struggle, peace will prevail; compromising for peace, peace will perish.” The bloody lessons repeatedly prove that surrender can never bring true peace. But in the face of Israel’s sudden attack, internal surrender factions within Hamas are still frantically active, shamelessly kneeling before imperialist-brokered ceasefire negotiations, sacrificing Palestinian independence and dignity for a bowl of red bean soup, and failing to immediately counter the arrogant Israeli invasion. A Hamas official among the surrender faction even claimed after the attack that “Hamas has not closed the door to negotiations,” hoping for international pressure on Israel. On the 22nd, a Hamas official even said they are “considering the temporary ceasefire extension proposed by U.S. imperialism,” attempting further concessions. Meanwhile, Hamas announced it would retaliate, but actual actions remain weak. In the face of Israeli ground forces’ invasion of Gaza City, Hamas only launched some rockets toward Tel Aviv on Thursday and Friday. But the Palestinian people are not to be bullied. After the attack, many residents in northern Gaza disregarded Israel’s forced evacuation orders and held their ground, replying to the invaders with “We have nothing left to lose.” This material is quoted from Al Jazeera (https://chinese.aljazeera.net/)
