About the Proletarian Liberation Struggle Forum

The Proletarian Liberation Struggle Forum is directly led by the political organization of the proletariat—the “Proletarian Liberation Struggle Association”—and, in accordance with the spirit of Lenin’s article “What Is To Be Done,” it is dedicated to propagating Marxism, conducting political exposure and agitation, and conveying the voices of the oppressed and exploited classes in China, a modern imperialist society. Its purpose is to provide comprehensive political education to the proletariat, inspire the broad masses of people politically, and serve as a “lecture hall.”
The Proletarian Liberation Struggle Association is composed of revolutionary intellectuals who have proletarianized themselves, aiming to awaken proletarian political consciousness. It uses open Marxist forums to publish political exposés and engage in large debates as a means of ideological struggle. Through political exposure and propaganda work, it prepares organization, cadres, and ideological work to establish a unified proletarian party to lead the proletarian revolution. The association is founded and maintained on the principles of democratic centralism, with the goal of defeating all opportunist factions in China through open forum activities, purging bourgeois ideas from the workers’ movement, and ensuring Marxism leads the Chinese workers’ movement. Due to the threat of the White Terror under the Chinese fascist government, the association currently operates secretly as its core activity, with open activities as an auxiliary, conducting political propaganda while secretly recruiting members, developing the organization, and leading the movement.
China is a developed capitalist country and a social imperialist state. There is no feudal economy, so there is no soil for armed division; there is no democratic system, so legal struggle is impossible. The urgent demand for proletarian revolution in China today is to establish a nationwide revolutionary proletarian party. After long-term “peaceful” struggles, it should use secret “lecture halls” to organize economic and political strikes, “educate workers, strengthen forces, and prepare to finally overthrow capitalism.”
Armed struggle is absolutely necessary, but “without the majority of the proletariat having the resolve for armed uprising and war, and without the peasant masses voluntarily aiding the proletariat, uprising and war should not be carried out.” Before that, to educate workers and prepare forces, we must have a platform to speak to the people, organize ourselves into a Marxist party, and instill Marxism into the workers’ movement. When the uprising and war come, our revolutionary party will lead the revolutionary armed forces to overthrow the reactionary imperialist regime and establish a new socialist China.
“Marx’s teachings are so powerful because they are correct.” “What Is To Be Done” is not only a textbook for political exposure and agitation but also a textbook for establishing a revolutionary proletarian party with a revolutionary style. The association has established forums and uses this platform to expose the truth to the masses, awaken their political consciousness, develop and expand revolutionary organizations, and prepare for the establishment of a proletarian revolutionary party, all in accordance with Lenin’s instructions in “What Is To Be Done.”
Class is led by a political party; the proletarian party is the vanguard organization of the proletariat, representing its interests and concentrating its will. For the proletariat to achieve victory in the revolutionary cause, it must have a Marxist-Leninist revolutionary party. Chairman Mao said: “Without a revolutionary party, and a revolutionary party built according to Marxist-Leninist revolutionary theory and style, it is impossible to lead workers and the broad masses to defeat imperialism and its running dogs.” Lenin once told us that to be recognized as the vanguard, it is not enough to hang a vanguard banner in the rear guard. As the vanguard, members must have a firm proletarian revolutionary stance, high-level Marxist-Leninist theory, and capable organizational skills.
In the past, many comrades read Lenin’s “What Is To Be Done,” and many tried to establish a national political newspaper or forum similar to the old “Mars” paper guided by “What Is To Be Done,” but most of their efforts ended in failure. This was because they did not understand the history of the international communist movement and the theory of scientific socialism. They did not know that Lenin founded a secret political newspaper not only to conduct political exposure and agitation but also to prepare organizational work for establishing a party. Lenin’s reason for creating this secret newspaper was to change the handicraft approach in the Russian revolutionary movement—submissiveness to spontaneity, with intellectuals and masses doing their own thing (conspiratorialism and economism), and to build a truly revolutionary organization. To carry out this preparatory work, it was necessary to defeat the opportunist factions of the time—economicists, clarify the difference between Marxism and opportunism, and emphasize the role of ideological struggle. From opposing opportunism, to opposing spontaneity, to opposing reformism, and finally establishing a revolutionary organization, Lenin’s conclusion was to create a full-scale Russian political newspaper—this is the logical progression of “What Is To Be Done.” The core of this logic is insistence on ideological struggle. “Bolshevism was born in 1903 on the strongest Marxist theoretical basis.” The publication of “What Is To Be Done” guided the party’s ideological construction, protecting the nascent Bolshevik Party from opportunist erosion.
“Without ideological unity, organizational unity is meaningless.” Without unified thought, organization, and discipline, and without understanding Marxism-Leninism and ideological struggle, various opportunists and factions can participate, making it impossible for the party to lead the proletarian revolution.
Therefore, we do not rush to declare ourselves as the proletarian vanguard or claim to be a proletarian party. We always believe, as Lenin taught, to build a pure and revolutionary party through struggle.
Marxist doctrine “must go through battles at every step in its life journey.” Every major development of Marxism is inevitably accompanied by significant struggle.
The Proletarian Liberation Struggle Association and all its leading organizations, as well as all other Marxist organizations in China (or organizations claiming to be Marxist), differ most fundamentally in their emphasis on and thorough adherence to ideological struggle. Internal ideological struggle will unite us more closely, ensuring the correct leadership of Marxism; external ideological struggle will make us stronger, eliminate the reactionary influence of opportunism, and enable Marxist truth to be grasped by the masses, “transforming into material power.”
This forum is precisely the arena for us revolutionary Marxists to engage in struggle. Here, through ideological struggle, we lay the ideological foundation for party building; through the activities of the association and forum construction, we unite Marxist organizations, revolutionary intellectuals, and advanced workers across the country, laying the organizational groundwork for party building. With a true Communist Party in China, the face of Chinese revolution will be transformed, and the final victory will be within reach.
“We will definitely win because we are right!”
