Trump keeps saying how talented Putin is, and that working with him can lead to lasting peace, etc.

Could it be that because the Russia-Ukraine war has been stalemated for too long, the U.S. feels that it cannot profit from the conflict and instead has spent too much of its energy and funds? Now, it wants to free up its hands by appeasing Russia to deal with China? I remember there were two political commentaries on the forum about this, and it seems to be the same idea.
I think the Russia-Ukraine war will probably continue. Recently, the heated ‘peace talks’ stirred up by Trump are likely a political extortion tactic he adopted, taking advantage of Zelensky’s ‘weakness’. This weakness is that Zelensky must keep the war going because his unilateral resistance approach and various anti-people measures have greatly angered the Ukrainian people. Currently, there have been many incidents of desertion or draft evasion, and a sudden surrender would only accelerate his downfall. Meanwhile, the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict benefits the US imperialists. Besides making huge profits from arms sales, the US can also gain substantial profits through energy trade with Europe—since the outbreak of the war, due to EU sanctions, Russia’s energy trade with most European countries has been stopped or greatly reduced, while US exports of energy, especially liquefied natural gas, have skyrocketed. Additionally, the ‘mineral agreement’ (Zelensky’s traitorous agreement) that gives the US control over Ukraine’s mineral resources has now been basically finalized. However, from the map, it is clear that Russia still occupies most of the Donbas mining region in eastern Ukraine. Having finally gained privileges over Ukraine’s minerals, it is unlikely that the US imperialists will simply watch Russia eat the meat while they only sip the soup. In summary, given the current war situation, I think it is still unlikely that the US will pursue appeasement or partition Ukraine with Russia for the time being.
