The 'bad news as good news' exposed, deception by the rehabilitation center becomes embarrassing again — female master's student with mental disorder 'taken in' for thirteen years gives birth to second child

From economic and political situations to current events and social news, Zhongxiu has always been accustomed to using the method of “good news from bad news,” vigorously embellishing and beautifying the various social chaos that appears under its reactionary rule—semi-unemployed people are called “flexible employment populations,” all kinds of parasitic consumption as products of capitalism’s extreme decay are praised as “hope for economic recovery,” traffickers who sell women and force them to give birth to eight children are lauded as “heroic fathers of eight children,” and vulgar, pornographic short dramas targeting middle-aged and elderly people, which are popular due to the widespread moral corruption in Chinese Confucian society, are distorted as “the rise of the silver economy”… Zhongxiu considers itself an expert in turning black into white, viewing the masses as a group of fools who cannot think and can be fooled at will. Little do they know, “The most humble are the smartest, the noblest are the most foolish[1], and the masses with the richest experience in production and class struggle are a thousand times wiser than these dull, incompetent drunks and loafers. Their lies are being exposed one after another by the people.

Ms. Bu was born in 1979. At that time, it was the era when Zhongxiu “restored the college entrance examination,” widely propagated the “studying to become officials” theory, and promoted social Darwinism. Therefore, from a young age, under the dual pressure of family and society, Ms. Bu regarded studying and speculation as her only way out, unwilling to accept any possibility of failure. When she encountered some setbacks in her speculation, she felt as if struck by lightning. Failing her Ph.D. entrance exam was the most thorough blow to her. Ms. Bu developed severe schizophrenia and stayed at home to recuperate. But during this period, she disappeared after going out once, and her family initially tried to report to the police, but still could not find her whereabouts.

Ms. Bu did not run away from home but was trafficked to Zhang Moumou’s house about a hundred kilometers away. There, she was used as a sexual and reproductive tool, subjected to abuse, torture, and rape for 13 years. It was only when Zhang’s family believed that Ms. Bu had surpassed the reproductive age and lost her “use value,” and her children, born during her captivity, could not enjoy local policies due to her lack of household registration, that Zhang’s niece intervened, quickly finding Ms. Bu’s original family through police and “search volunteer” efforts.

To cover up the dual oppression of women under its rule by Confucian ideology and fascist dictatorship, and to gloss over the morally corrupt and crime-ridden Chinese capitalist society, Zhongxiu beautified such obvious trafficking and rape cases as “simple stories of good farmers taking in wandering mental patients,” thinking it could deceive the people. However, the broad masses, who have suffered exploitation and oppression by Zhongxiu and have been repeatedly educated by practical struggle experiences, have long awakened. With sharp eyes, they see through Zhongxiu’s tricks and immediately expose the hidden trafficking behind these “warm stories”: although Ms. Bu’s account of her identity is fragmented and consists of ungrammatical words, she can still roughly express her experiences. Moreover, on the first line of her note, she wrote a single character—“跑” (“run”)! This proves that Ms. Bu still has thinking and expressive abilities, can communicate with others, and could not have “gone missing” for three years without her family, nor could she have been unwillingly kept at Zhang’s house for thirteen years. Later, when her family took her for mental treatment, they found her unable to accept therapy due to severe malnutrition. If Ms. Bu had truly been “kindly taken in” and “carefully looked after” by Zhang’s family, how could she be malnourished? Ms. Bu was missing for thirteen years, but her eldest son was already twelve, which means Zhang took her home shortly after her disappearance and forced her into a sexual relationship. Her family lives only about a hundred kilometers from Zhang’s house, about a three-and-a-half-hour drive, and in recent years, Zhongxiu has repeatedly conducted population checks under the guise of implementing second-generation ID cards, nucleic acid testing, and other reasons, yet Zhang’s family could not find Ms. Bu’s family, which is even more suspicious. As each clue is uncovered by the people, Zhongxiu’s true face of oppressing women is fully exposed. For a time, almost the entire internet was condemning Zhang’s family and Zhongxiu government for covering up the facts and protecting the criminals, demanding the truth be revealed and the traffickers and rapists be severely punished.

However, with extensive counterrevolutionary experience, Zhongxiu would never voluntarily concede to the masses. They use state power to uphold the patriarchy, threatening Ms. Bu’s family not to disclose the trafficking. Ms. Bu’s sister-in-law attempted to expose this matter via live broadcast, but her live stream was immediately banned. Meanwhile, Zhang’s family, protected by Zhongxiu, believed they were safe and began live-streaming sales, shamelessly claiming how much they “love” Ms. Bu, which also drew public condemnation. Zhang’s family, relying on Zhongxiu’s backing, boldly declared during the live broadcast that Ms. Bu was “useless to the country and society,” “only able to survive thanks to them,” which enraged the people even further. Seeing that they could no longer deceive the public without a proper explanation, Zhongxiu finally could not withstand the pressure of public opinion and took “criminal coercive measures” against Zhang for “forced sexual relations with a mental patient,” but still refused to admit involvement in trafficking and illegal detention. The family of Zhang, as accomplices, also did not receive the punishment they deserved.

Even so, this incident once again exposed Zhongxiu’s true nature as a paper tiger. Zhongxiu, thinking it could continue spreading propaganda and beautifying falsehoods through its powerful propaganda machine, also hoped to silence the people’s voices through the power of the state when the truth was uncovered. But contrary to Zhongxiu’s expectations, the masses, through struggle, saw through and exposed Zhongxiu’s brutal oppression of women, shameless protection of rapists, and relentless maintenance of the patriarchy. “The fight has no end, the old tune will be repeatedly played.”[2] After this blow, Zhongxiu will undoubtedly resort to more and more cunning deception tactics in the future. But “Lies are lies, and disguises should be stripped away[3], and lies will always be lies, impossible to fool the masses forever. Zhongxiu will eventually reveal its predatory fangs. When that happens, its rule will not last much longer.
