This is what Zhongxiu calls the 'right to educational discipline'

I recently saw a news report that a student at a middle school in Xi’an was punished to squat over a hundred times just because they didn’t finish their exam, which directly caused rhabdomyolysis and led to hospitalization. These heinous teachers who torment students are not uncommon in the middle school system. I remembered a news story I saw some time ago about a physical education teacher at an elementary school who punished students to squat because their jump rope scores were poor, which also resulted in students being hospitalized. There are even teachers who insult and beat students, leading to suicides. The students suffer physical and mental trauma, but these teachers face little legal accountability—at most, they are suspended or dismissed, while the reactionary middle school system even establishes rules to protect these so-called “educational disciplinary rights.” Now, middle and elementary schools across the country are being turned into prisons by the reactionary education policies of the system.

Another point that makes people angry is that in the comment section under this news, there are some who defend these teachers, saying things like “don’t hurt the teachers’ hearts.” Do those students deserve to be hospitalized or even lose their lives? It’s truly ironic—“the punished students committed suicide, but the teachers only lose their jobs”!
