As the title suggests, this is my school diary for November.
(Note: I didn’t have time to write the first week, the original was organized into a PDF and stored in my phone’s privacy space, now only the main points are listed)
About the compulsory Saturday self-study:
On Friday, I questioned Math Teacher Nine, she and the grade director kept passing the buck. They, considering I dared to question and also incited classmates to oppose the compulsory self-study, unjustifiably gave me a fake. At the same time, Math Teacher Nine also told me not to incite others, clearly trying to buy me off with a day off, so I decided to come on Saturday anyway. Of course, I can still choose not to self-study. How should I act to oppose the Saturday compulsion?
On Saturday self-study, most classmates came. No Teacher Nine class (previously Teacher Nine would come to grade papers, but I don’t know why she didn’t come that day), only parents sitting at the back watching. The classmates were very unmotivated, some reading novels, playing on their phones. I talked with them, explained Teacher Nine’s conspiracy, but they said it would actually be better if I didn’t come (I think I must come. Is there any problem with this?).
T is still playing “Honor of Kings,” but he doesn’t indulge in the typical trendy jokes or humor. I introduced him to some forum topics, originally hoping he could check it out last weekend, but unfortunately he forgot the domain and couldn’t see it. I am still running with him at night, now I can run five laps in one go.
Are there any academic thieves in your class? When it comes to students, you still need to see them with a nuanced perspective: unite those students who resist the oppression of the academic institutions to collectively oppose self-study, while isolating those who seek to profit by following the school.
There are no thieves to learn from; no classmates in the class want to come. But the struggle faces even greater difficulties: now the entire grade is required to study independently, and our second-year students, who were previously an exception voluntarily, have now ended that. (Third-year students naturally endure unprecedented restrictions, and first-year students are required to study independently while also taking exams.) Clearly, the target of the struggle has expanded to the entire grade or even the school.
Can you tell them about the prospects? Like, right now I can look at my phone and read novels, but in the future, everything will definitely be sent away However, I don’t have much experience either.
Do you have any grade group chats? I feel like we can discuss how Saturday make-up classes are unreasonable in the grade group, and call the Education Bureau or the Mayor’s hotline to complain.
Calling the Education Bureau or the Mayor’s Hotline, actually they won’t manage it; in the end, it still comes down to layers of demands, and finally it is handed over to the school to “handle it themselves.” The only difference is that calling the hotline will prompt the Education Bureau to require the school to report on the progress, meaning how you are handling it, and the result is predictable.
We have tried before, and the Education Bureau staff didn’t come, but the director of education immediately showed up. Those who deserve to be punished should be punished, and those who should be dismissed should be sent back home. Do not harbor hope for the ruling class and its lackeys.
I can only say that this method has some effect, but the risks are too great. Without a solid mass base, it is very dangerous.

Early evening, watch “Focus on the Common People” in advance, see the Zhongxiuzao’s Fujian Ship delivered to the Zhongxiu Navy, and even piglets “attend” the commissioning ceremony. The news exaggerated the Fujian Ship, claiming that electromagnetic catapult technology is so powerful that it can “better safeguard national security.” This is a machine used to compete with the American imperialists and wage war, with Zhongxiu adding a layer of “defending the people and the nation” as a disguise, trying to deceive the masses. But what can this do? Even if the weapons used for domination and slaughter of the working people are multiplied a thousand times, they cannot prevent their own demise!
Later, a class meeting was held about fire safety.
Afterward, the math teacher Lao Jiu called several students (those who took leave and did not come on Saturday, November 8) to the office, coercing them with various reasons to study independently, otherwise they would bear the consequences.
Early evening, part of the damn math Lao Jiu talked about math papers! Then she announced a school meeting notice, with one point worth noting: someone outside the school was distributing so-called “Free Christian” flyers. Lao Jiu told us to pay special attention and to report anyone distributing flyers immediately to the school police. She also said that the top thirty-five students in the midterm and final exams could go to the experimental class, and H just needed one more good result to get in. This was not only directed at him but also at everyone in the class. Isn’t this just enticing us to indulge in opportunistic studies?
November 10th
There was no flag-raising ceremony today, not even indoor broadcasts. Although it was drizzling outside, we all guessed that the reason for no flag-raising was probably because the first-year students had mid-term exams from today to Wednesday. Some people even complained that during our second-year exams, the school officials called the second-year students down to participate in the flag-raising ceremony.
Later, during the third period math class, Math Lao Jiu didn’t come for some reason. She had previously instructed the class representative to distribute the test papers at this time and told us to do them, and to explain on Wednesday.
In the second class in the afternoon, the psychological counselor (Comrade Marsh) finally came to class (funny enough, she has only taught three classes this semester due to various reasons, which shows how clearly the education system knows that psychology classes are just a way to fool students and are not taken seriously). The content was the meaningless “How to Comfort Others” (how can the 293 million students in our country, who have been oppressed and beaten down by the Confucian dog parents of the education system for years, be comforted?). Clearly, this was an attempt to divert attention and deceive students. Of course, students kept saying “endure,” which felt like a sign of some indifference towards other classmates.
In the evening, I watched “Joint Attention” early, saw the opening of the 15th National Games of Zhongxiu, and saw Zhang Youxia. It seems that Zhongxiu now plans to replace the piglet with a more reactionary fascist leader (very likely), or implement some reform policies (highly unlikely).
I am still communicating with T, discussing the dangers of MOBA games like “King of Glory.” He told me that he even recently created a new account and that he will definitely help him recognize the violence and harm to life and health caused by such games. After the evening self-study, I ran with him again, completing five laps in one breath, and did some stretching and relaxation exercises.
Using a classmate’s data, I accessed the forum and saw the self-introduction of newcomer Fengli. It was truly refreshing and happy to see that he has even experienced the era of socialist remnants. Thinking about the current time, which has almost no socialist atmosphere, it’s really maddening! When I was in elementary school, the only things that could be considered remnants of socialism were the borrowing corner and learning from Lei Feng (probably with some exaggeration).
I have now obtained a SIM card and also bought a cheaper power bank. In the future (it can be used as soon as possible, but at the latest, it will be usable by next week), I can browse forums at any time inside the school without borrowing classmates’ data anymore.
November 16
When I came back and saw “Joint Attention,” in a 30-minute news segment, there were actually 10 minutes discussing Takamiya Sanae’s remarks involving Taiwan, which shows how the anti-China atmosphere is tense, similar to how the Soviet Union once paid close attention to Nazi revival—perhaps a reflection of Japan’s militarism? (It includes a whitewashing statement about the Kuomintang’s “Fourteen Years of Resistance,” and also mentions opposition from Japanese politicians and lawmakers.)
Following that was the so-called “Thanksgiving” educational class meeting (the content is basically about gratitude to parents, the Chinese Communist Party, and the “Xiuxue” state?! The presentation even included a segment of the reactionary and toxic “Na Tu” cartoon, which whitewashes the Kuomintang, personifies the state, erases class struggle, and extols the Chinese Communist Party—it’s simply unbearable and makes me hate it deeply, I just hum “Comrades, march forward bravely.”
Also, when the news about Takamiya Sanae appeared with “Japanese Communist Party,” the students were very surprised (they interpret the Communist Party too metaphysically, and under deception, many can’t distinguish what is truly a Communist Party). Are there any materials about the left-wing movements in Japan during the 1960s and 70s that can be shared?
Now I’ve improved my writing method: using allegorical codes + clear text, plus scanning text to increase efficiency by 1.5 times; additionally, with the phone cards and power banks I received, I can even update daily, greatly improving the timeliness of my journal.
Ideological issues: As Comrade Forward said, only paying attention to methods without addressing the substance is ineffective. I should study relevant documents criticizing toxic art and literature, and take good notes. The current problem is the residual toxicity from the “second dimension,” which makes me afraid to look directly at female classmates, fearing I might have vulgar thoughts again (this week I plan to study the women’s liberation materials posted by comrades at People’s Square, and review “Home Private State”); some toxic art songs (I haven’t fully recognized the resistance to Western imperialist pop songs, but I no longer subconsciously engage with the Chinese revisionist ones); and the temptation of short videos and obscene entertainment.
A past weakness in my studies was not summarizing: I would just take notes and underline key sentences, which made my understanding shallow. Later, I adopted a small notebook for notes, leaving only underlined parts and some annotations. After completing a set of notes, I might publish them; the original will be destroyed.
Math teacher Lao Jiu announced at 9:03 p.m.:
Phones confiscated will not be returned.
There will be an assessment of students’ desk arrangements (crazy! Regular inspections will be conducted; failure to pass will result in cleaning duties).
She also mentioned that our class of over 30 students had an early lunch and left early on Saturday noon as a warning.
There will be a basketball game this week.
Then she released the midterm exam scores. I feel that there hasn’t been much change.
November 11th
In the morning, the Chinese class was discussing the boring argument of the eight-legged essay points. At one point, I thought these were not even logical units but rather essay sections (they had been taught before!).
The third period in the afternoon was math class (replaced with physics earlier). At that time, the math teacher Lao Jiu was late, and a student asked, “Why hasn’t XX (the name of the math teacher Lao Jiu) arrived yet?” Just then, Lao Jiu walked in, and the student quickly changed his words, saying, “Why hasn’t Teacher X come yet?” But Lao Jiu had already heard what he said earlier, and his face turned red with anger. He scolded, “Do you have any respect for teachers and the Way? Calling me by my name directly!” (This precisely reflects the unequal status between contemporary students and Lao Jiu in Zhongxiu.)
In the evening, I watched “Joint Attention” and saw Zhongxiu’s Air Force commemorating Army Day, filming a reactionary propaganda micro-movie. It was all about showing off military power to intimidate the outside world, while also glorifying Zhongxiu’s Air Force and branding it as the “People’s Air Force.” It’s truly disgusting!
