How significant is the role of drones in modern warfare?

If you don’t understand, just ask. I recently saw this news, although I have seen many similar reports before, my impression of drones is still at the level of remote-controlled airplanes… How significant is the role of drones in modern warfare today? Are they already capable of conducting sabotage activities deep behind enemy lines?

It is said that because under the current capitalist system, the military has no countermeasures against drones, as the targets are too small to search easily, and their agility makes them difficult to capture, and there is also a lack of means to strike them. Therefore, this kind of weaponry can often attack the enemy unexpectedly, such as in the northern Myanmar conflict, where the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army repeatedly used drones to bomb the Myanmar army positions despite daily airstrikes by the Myanmar military, killing senior military commanders multiple times. It seems that the Myanmar military’s air strikes are far less precise than the alliance army’s drone attacks. However, it is unlikely to be possible behind the enemy’s lines; the operational distance should not be very far, and endurance and maintenance are issues. Also, because they cannot carry heavy bombs, they are mainly used for tactical bombing and cannot destroy enemy military fortifications, infrastructure, factories, and other buildings.
However, these are purely technical issues; military success does not rely solely on technology but on people. Both Russia and Ukraine are battered by each other’s drones, which can only be said to reflect the decay of their armies and their inability to effectively prevent or counter such attacks. Straying from a purely military route that is disconnected from the people, it is probably very difficult to even detect and counter such small-scale air raids. It can be imagined that if the people’s forces are fully mobilized to carry out guerrilla warfare, maximizing the use of drones and counter-drone measures would not be difficult.
