This article made me feel a bit scared. The so-called beacon of democracy, the power struggle triggered by the presidential election, the appeasement of Trump, and Trump’s political center, do not show the atmosphere of a capitalist democratic country at all. Instead, it makes people think of Hitler winning the so-called German election under the control of monopolistic capitalists in Germany, establishing fascist Germany.

All imperialist countries around the world are promoting fascism. When the Trump administration was defeated by Biden last time, they even staged the Capitol Hill riot, which was essentially a reenactment of the attempt by American Nazis in the 1930s to seize power. But because this spectacle was too ugly, it was strongly opposed by the people, and the farce was quickly brought to an end. Trump’s rise to power this time will undoubtedly be a disaster for the American people, but what does it matter? A Democratic Party government won’t make things better for workers either. One of the reasons for Trump’s rise this time is also the dissatisfaction of the American people with Biden’s reactionary domestic and foreign policies. In the era of imperialism, politics is increasingly dark and reactionary; the distinctions between all parties are gradually disappearing, as they all serve the interests of the monopolist bourgeoisie. We cannot have any illusions about the formal democracy of the bourgeoisie. Moreover, in this election, many Democratic Party figures defected to the Republican camp; many monopolist bourgeoisie and politicians who previously declared opposition to Trump’s rise now support Trump, even the traditional Democratic stronghold of New York has turned against Biden and supports Trump. Rather than saying that the Republicans won over the Democrats, it is more accurate to say that the two parties have merged. Last time Trump lost and staged the Capitol Hill riot, while Biden lost and claimed to ensure a peaceful transfer of power, supporting Trump. It is clear that Trump’s rise to power is the common choice of the American monopolist bourgeoisie. In the face of this situation, only the struggle of the people can stop the fascistization of the United States.
