“Ten Historical Drafts of the Chinese Communist Party’s Line Struggles” (Draft 1) (1976) (hereinafter referred to as “The Ten Line Struggles Draft”) is a collectively written work by the editorial team of this book, discussing the history of ten line struggles within the Chinese Communist Party. These ten line struggles are: the struggle against Chen Duxiu’s right opportunist line, the struggle against Qu Qiubai’s “Left” opportunist line, the struggle against Li Lisan’s “Left” opportunist line, the struggle against Luo Zhanglong’s right opportunist line, the struggle against Wang Ming’s “Left” then “Right” opportunist line, the struggle against Zhang Guotao’s right opportunist line, the struggle against Gao Gang and Rao Shushi’s right opportunist lines, the struggle against Peng Dehuai’s right opportunist line, the struggle against Liu Shaoqi’s counterrevolutionary revisionist line, and the struggle against Lin Biao’s counterrevolutionary revisionist line. The “Ten Line Struggles Draft” uses a large amount of historical data combined with Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, and the historical experience of the Chinese Communist Party’s various line struggles to scientifically explain the process of Mao Zedong’s revolutionary line opposing ten erroneous lines within the Chinese Communist Party, clarifying the process of the emergence, development, and demise of these ten erroneous lines. Besides, there are also struggles within the Chinese Communist Party against Deng Xiaoping’s counterrevolutionary revisionist line and against Hua Guofeng’s counterrevolutionary revisionist line, but due to the historical limitations at the time of the draft’s completion, these were not included. Although the “Ten Line Struggles Draft” is unsigned, its preface indicates that the Political Education Department, History Department, Political Theory Collective Course, and Central Party History Department of Beijing Normal University participated in its compilation, so it should be called “The Editorial Team of This Book.”
