Ukrainian comprador kneels again and agrees to a thirty-day ceasefire

On March 11, the Ukrainian and American delegations held nearly nine hours of talks in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, during which both sides issued a “Joint Statement” of the U.S.-Ukraine alliance, and the Trump administration agreed to resume military and intelligence aid to Ukraine. This is essentially a successful political extortion, giving a little sweetener to Ukraine’s comprador. Because the joint statement after the talks mentioned that Ukraine decided to “cease fire for thirty days,” depending on Russia’s response; it also mentioned that “the two presidents agree to reach a comprehensive agreement on the development of Ukraine’s key mineral resources as soon as possible to expand Ukraine’s economy and ensure Ukraine’s long-term prosperity and security,” which is undoubtedly a proof of Ukraine’s comprador bowing and surrendering to American imperialism.  Meanwhile, the European imperialist countries that previously expressed willingness to aid Ukraine are also stepping onto the negotiation table under the support of the “Joint Statement,” vigorously supporting Ukraine’s ceasefire, in preparation for future negotiations where Ukraine’s comprador and traitors will sell out. EU Commission President von der Leyen stated that “this can be a step towards Ukraine achieving comprehensive, just, and lasting peace,” and “the EU is ready to play a full role in the upcoming peace negotiations”; French President Macron said he wants to “achieve… lasting peace… and provide strong security guarantees for Ukraine”; UK Prime Minister Stamer also said he wants to achieve permanent peace… These European imperialist countries are all eager to divide more benefits from Ukraine. This also shows that their previous opposition to separate talks between the U.S. and Russia was merely opposition to not being able to directly carve up Ukraine; if these imperialist bandits are brought to the table, they will also readily agree to the U.S. demands.  Zelensky, who initially betrayed Ukraine’s interests, never expected that after issuing the “Joint Statement” and announcing the suspension of missile, drone, and bomb attacks, the Russian military launched ballistic missiles at cargo ships in the Ukrainian port of Odessa. This shows that a ceasefire agreement at the cost of betraying national interests can only be a ceasefire by weak comprador troops, while imperialist bandits will never put down their weapons to stop plundering.
