What is your opinion on the Buqing Mountain Digital Collective Farm?

A small mutual aid group that gathered together to go to Guangdong and set up a so-called collective farm, I just saw that they said the chickens they raised are really starting to be sold. Seeing their organization makes me feel like the spirit of Proudhon wandering in 21st century China… I wonder what everyone thinks about this so-called mutual aid organization.

The retention of private ownership will soon differentiate; mutual aid groups are only for self-interest. When others’ actions touch on one’s core interests, conflicts will arise.

I don’t know why I can’t post the link in the first post. Below is their video on Bilibili

The foundation of this mutual aidism is the struggle of the bankrupt petty bourgeoisie to preserve small private ownership. The difference between mutual aidism and utopian socialism is that it uses small-scale production and small private ownership of the petty bourgeoisie to oppose the large-scale production and private ownership of capitalism. Utopian socialism, on the other hand, advocates abolishing private ownership through public ownership and using large-scale public production to counter the large-scale private production of capitalism. Although utopian socialism’s path and methods to achieve socialism are wrong, it at least admits that society is moving forward rather than backward. The mutual aidism of the bankrupt petty bourgeoisie is an attempt to reverse history and make the world regress.

These people have already clearly admitted in their videos that they call themselves “the bottom-tier cattle and horses trying to escape the city.” They say that the reason they choose to establish this mutual aid organization is to escape capitalist exploitation. They also openly declare in the comments that although collective construction is tiring, it is still easier than working for others. From this, it can be seen that their so-called collective economy is merely an alliance of small producers, established to preserve their own small private ownership and to avoid participating in labor as hired workers by forming mutual aid organizations.

The nature of cooperatives is determined by the nature of society; in capitalist society, cooperatives are private ownership cooperatives. This so-called collectivist organization is actually just a cover-up of capitalist exploitation relations with patriarchal relationships, and in essence, it remains a capitalist-style enterprise. In capitalist society, it is inevitable that such enterprises will polarize. This organization will not last long because their small-scale production cannot compete with large-scale capitalist production, and the foundation of their organization—these bankrupt petty bourgeoisie—is nobody’s match.

In fact, these so-called digital collective farms are just a group of selfish leftists, like other leftist circles online, who dress themselves in Marxist clothing and try to take advantage of Marxist slogans to gain fame, status, and benefits. However, these people are more active, able to raise funds and recruit people, and have established a so-called collective farm. Meanwhile, online leftist groups like “Continuing Revision Society” can only stay online forever, disguising themselves as Marxists, engaging in so-called revolutionary cosplay to get some spiritual comfort. If the “Continuing Revision Society” wants to realize their leftist dream of gaining fame, status, and money, I think they might as well learn from this collective farm. That way, they can see what kind of relationships these people, who constantly scheming against each other and calling each other comrades in name, actually have.

Their organization is now showing signs of breaking apart. They are frantically scheming against each other. Officially, the leader of this digital collective farm is called “Comrade Starfish,” but recent videos and plans have placed his name behind others. The internal members are even more fiercely scheming against each other, writing long articles on their accounts criticizing the organization’s activities, claiming there is serious mutual suspicion within the organization, with some people prioritizing personal interests over collective interests, oppressing others in the name of the collective. This is quite normal because the anarchist mutual aidist ideology is actually just self-serving—aimed at protecting their small private property and private possessions. Anarchism is not about rejecting government altogether, but about only wanting their own government. These anarchists are highly individualistic with very strong private ownership concepts, so intense power struggles are inevitable among them.

In reality, someone will inevitably emerge to fight for the leadership of this mutual aid organization, then seize its economic benefits and exploit other members’ labor results. It is also obvious that their purpose in running this organization is to operate capitalist enterprises and make profits. They have already started creating WeChat groups and are eager to sell their products—such as the Lu Hua chicken at 158 yuan each (which tastes bad, has little meat, and a long growth cycle).

I can make a prediction: this mutual aid organization will not last long. Soon, it will either collapse due to internal chaos or be squeezed out by large-scale production and disappear. The best outcome is that the organization’s shell might be preserved and successfully transformed into a capitalist enterprise, but this possibility is very small because they do not understand how to carry out capitalist exploitation activities.

Perhaps one day they will see our account when browsing Bilibili, click into the forum to see this post, but these people are all non-anti-China reformists, busy with indulgence, so they probably won’t see it. Moreover, due to different habits of indulgence, their schedules are different, so even during collective labor, their routines are inconsistent, and this discipline can be said to be almost nonexistent, which also leads to arguments. I suspect their economy has also encountered problems; in the comment section, it is mentioned that they raised Luhua chickens for two months before selling, but the Luhua chickens take even longer to mature, possibly urgently needing to sell this batch of chickens to make money, or internal conflicts have become sharp, requiring the sale of chickens to divert attention, or they are just a group of parasitic students who graduated not long ago, with no farming knowledge at all. Furthermore, if I hadn’t seen the long post about their internal conflicts posted by this person, I would have thought they were still maintaining a grudging unity in harmony. Their video from the previous day was them singing with high-end equipment, probably understanding why they no longer frequently post videos about their “collective production” to attract money.

Bù Qíngshān recently updated a deepseek video, in fact they maintain a very delicate relationship with Zhōngxiū, and previously they were praising XJP’s statements, not ruling out the possibility of defecting to Zhōngxiū in the future. They have recently started selling eggs, but one egg can’t even fill a small egg tray, and they are still sold at a relatively high price. The potatoes they grow are only thumb-sized, and they probably won’t sell these vegetables and fruits in the short term, so they can only harvest from the left circle.

On March 4th, Bu Qing Shan released another video about their chicken feed, but they have already made many videos like this. It seems they are mainly focusing on the poultry industry because they can’t sustain other industries; after all, no one would buy thumb-sized potatoes or eggs that can’t fill an egg carton. From the creative team of this video, it can be seen that their internal division is very serious. When they first started posting videos, many members of the original team had become Haixing and Mayorana, and they didn’t even have a collective account in their nominal capacity. Later, Xiao Choufan joined, and internally it seems to have become a three-way power struggle among these three people.
