Factory Diary (try to update daily)

Today, there were no major setbacks at work. First, I was assembling components, then I moved on to drilling and tapping. During the drilling and tapping process, a man who likes to wear a fur-collared suit, after communicating with Master Wang who was working with me, saw me drilling and noticed that I was taking a long time. He then came over and asked, “Is it hard to drill? I saw you drilling for such a long time.” I was a bit stunned and replied, “I only took a few seconds to punch through, right?” Afterwards, this person said something similar to being slow at work.
This person was interviewing himself; he was wearing a work uniform during the interview, but later, during the morning meeting at the factory, he was one of the one or two people standing opposite the worker team. He also often wears a black fur-collared suit.
I feel that this person is not a good person.
During lunch, I chatted with a worker sitting opposite me about the dishes served in the factory, but I didn’t talk about anything else afterward.

You can give a brief introduction to the factory and the working environment on the first floor; people who haven’t read your other posts might be confused.
If Mao Ling’s suit often has meetings with you and meddles in your work, he is likely a leader in some aspect. Workers dislike this sycophant the most; you can complain about him to workers like Master Wang from the same team as a conversation starter.

Just a simple self-introduction, many people on the forum still don’t know you.

Briefly introduce yourself and your work background, otherwise many people won’t understand what’s going on, and it will be confusing and not conducive to communication.

This person is all the people interviewing you, they must be management of the factory.

Where is your update? :eyes:

Huoyan, your factory diary hasn’t been updated for a long time.

Last Thursday morning, I went to ask the factory HR about signing a labor contract. The HR was not there; it was a temporary worker sitting in the HR position. Later, this temporary worker didn’t know what they were doing, printed some documents related to the labor contract for me to sign while making phone calls to HR. During this time, I overheard the temporary worker and the other party’s HR discussing that they wouldn’t hire me.
Afterwards, I asked what to do if there was no reason for not hiring and about the wages. Then, after waiting for the factory director, I was given a trial work wage.
After leaving the factory, I originally planned to look for another job.
(Transferring content from another post here.)

Next, this is the situation at the current factory.
Next is our local characteristic of ‘guanxi’ (relationship) process.
On the third day after I returned home, for work-related reasons, my mother brought gifts and took me to ‘guanxi’ (relationship) to meet someone. The other party is a civil servant at the tax bureau. My mother asked him to find a suitable position for herself. I said I hoped to find a job as a fitter or machine tool apprentice.
Then I looked for a trial job, which I didn’t pay much attention to.
The night I lost that job and returned home with my wages, my mother told me that a civil servant found a fitter position for her. She asked me to contact ‘Zhang Zong’. The other party added, ‘They’re almost full, hurry up.’
At that time, I hadn’t even started looking for a job, and I had no other options. After overcoming my desire to stay at home and indulge, I immediately contacted this Zhang on the next day (last Friday).
That morning, I went to meet Zhang at our local largest heavy industry factory, ‘XX Heavy Industry’, at the address he provided. I didn’t ask about his background in detail. He then took me and another middle-aged man looking for work to see the place where we would work.

It’s a workshop that processes two-meter-high metal components. The workshop is full of rust, and the workers’ uniforms are covered with black and gray dust, wearing masks, goggles, and gloves.
By the end of the shift, except for the face covered by the mask, other parts of the face were covered with oil and dust. This oil and dust can only be washed off with laundry powder; dish soap and regular soap can’t remove it.

The next day after contacting this intermediary, I attended training at this factory. Because I didn’t have any other factory to work at, I could only choose this nearby job. During the discussion, Zhang said that for the first month, I would learn from experienced workers, earning 200 yuan a day, with no days off in a week. After a month, wages would be calculated based on piecework.
Work started on Tuesday.
So I, as a third-party worker without a labor contract, worked in this factory’s fitter processing workshop. I left at 6:25 am, took a 1.5-hour lunch break, and worked until 6:30 pm, returning home covered in oil and dust, enduring foot pain. Usually, I get home around 7:00 pm, but if there is overtime or special circumstances, I get home later.
(These are the initial details; I will add more about my work, interactions with my mother, and colleagues later.)

What do Huoyan think when looking for a job back home and having to rely on his mother’s connections? I see you are taking a humorous attitude when talking about this matter. Also, do you communicate with other workers? Besides working every day, what is your other work like? I’m sure everyone wants to know about these things.

It’s hard to say about the matter of finding relationships oneself, because one can find a job to go to work.

At the very beginning, I was unwilling to let my mother go look for connections. If she used connections to get in, and I worked for two days and got exhausted, I definitely wouldn’t want to embarrass the person who helped me get in, as I would feel ashamed. Therefore, this kind of job obtained through connections is definitely not free.
But initially, I didn’t firmly oppose this matter; I thought to myself that I had already found a job, and tomorrow I would start the trial work. Whether I would be affected by these connections afterward was uncertain.
At this time, my cousin used connections to get into a state-owned enterprise as a warehouse manager. My mother saw this and kept it in her mind.
Then, my mother’s connection helped me get into our dirtiest and most exhausting factory. In fact, I understand that in my family environment, there wouldn’t be relationships that could operate profitably.
As for whether the external environment makes it impossible to find a job without connections, I believe that it is definitely possible to find a job without them.
And the kind of job I can find is exactly the kind I am doing now—dirty, tiring, and grueling. Because in our place, these are the types of jobs that are heavily recruited.
During these days working in the factory, I came into contact with four people who were outsourced with me. One is 35 years old (also a migrant worker before), another is 40 (previously handled small renovation projects), another is in his forties or fifties (used to be a lathe operator), and one is 58 (used to be a truck driver, and his family runs a breakfast shop). The people hired by this outsourcing boss more or less have personal relationships with him, such as classmates, relatives, or introductions.

It is inevitable to be affected by this relationship. If at that time he continues to use his relationship with your relatives and friends to manipulate you, both exploiting you and giving you small favors, what should you do then? I think you should try to find a factory through your own efforts, preferably not relying on family connections.

You trying to use connections is useless now, Huoyan finally got what he wished for and went home. When there’s good work available, he doesn’t do it; he goes home and does the hardest work.

Why is it so shameful that your mom had to find connections to get you a job? You should also think about working hard and transforming yourself, to get rid of your laziness. Since you have accepted such brutal exploitation, you should be thinking about overthrowing this capitalist society full of oppression and exploitation.

It’s quite late to realize that it’s embarrassing. As for the others, I haven’t thought about them in detail.

That’s right, that civil servant and Zhang Mou are just going with the flow, lacking talent to put you in as a beast of burden.

Why have you been so absent lately? Everyone has called you several times, please reply to the message.

Recently, I’ve been watching too many videos after work. I haven’t paid attention to these situations.

Sure enough, the pleasure was so indulgent that the person disappeared
