On the evening of February 11th, at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center, during the 7th round of the Asian Champions League, Shandong Taishan defeated Gwangju FC 3-1 at home. During the match, the home fans held up a photo featuring the former South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan, which was directed towards the away fans, causing protests from the visiting team. Subsequently, Gwangju FC stated that this act should not be simply regarded as a form of fan cheering, but as mockery and contempt towards Gwangju City and all of South Korea. The club plans to file a complaint with the AFC.
Chun Doo-hwan, a fascist leader who brutally suppressed, murdered, and massacred civilians during the Gwangju Uprising on May 18, 1980. Official South Korean figures estimate that 200 people died, and 1,000 protesters were injured. However, other estimates suggest the actual death toll was between one and two thousand. The author believes that the behavior of Taishan fans has gone beyond the so-called “joking,” “hell joke,” or “mind games.” Flaunting and publicly displaying photos of fascist leaders is a thoroughly reactionary fascist supporter’s act, an insult and blatant abuse towards the civilians and students who died or were injured during the Gwangju Uprising on May 18. Modern football no longer serves the broad proletariat masses and workers, peasants, and soldiers, but has become completely aligned with the right-wing petty bourgeoisie. In football history, so-called “football hooligans” are actually right-wing petty bourgeoisie, fervently promoting “Darwinian social evolution,” inciting riots on the pitch, and using the guise of spectating to carry out fascist violence, causing countless tragedies. (As shown in the picture) On December 23rd, local time in Italy, the right-back nicknamed “Little Mussolini” scored the only goal of the match against Cosenza. He also received a “tribute” from the fans in the stands, but what was the tribute? It was a Nazi salute. This has completely gone beyond the scope of petty bourgeois fans; openly performing a Nazi salute is an open promotion of fascism. Such incidents are not limited to the football field; they also frequently occur on basketball courts. The O. J. Simpson riot at The Palace of Auburn Hills happened on Friday, November 19, 2004, during an NBA game between the Indiana Pacers and the defending champion Detroit Pistons in Michigan. The Associated Press called it “the most notorious brawl in NBA history.” With 45.9 seconds remaining, the Pacers led 97-82. Pistons center Ben Wallace was about to shoot when he was fouled by Pacers small forward Ron Artest. Wallace, enraged, pushed Artest, and then fans in the arena erupted into conflict. During the fight, a fan in the stands threw a drink at Artest, who was lying on the scorer’s table recovering. Artest immediately stood up and chased the fan, causing the conflict between players and fans to spill onto the court and last for several minutes. The referee then suspended the game. The author believes that football and basketball should serve the broad masses of the proletariat, but under capitalism, sports are used as investment products for athletes, promoting “Darwinian social evolution,” and glorifying concepts like “talent” and “genius,” which are popular among the petty bourgeoisie. This has led to the formation of fan groups, among which right-wing elements organize “idol-chasing” activities. Those who look down on the idols they worship are killed—an unmistakable manifestation of fascism. Sports should be used to strengthen health, improve skills through competition, and enhance human connections, not for commercial purposes or inflated ticket prices. Ultimately, sports belong to the people and are of the proletariat. Everyone is welcome to discuss this topic!

I didn’t pay much attention to sports before, at most just watched badminton matches when I was a child. It seems that the violence I previously associated with basketball and football was also created by the bourgeoisie. However, the behavior of fascists is indeed too outrageous.

It may be due to not坚持思想斗争 (persisting in ideological struggle), becoming addicted to淫乐 (immoral pleasures), and not coming out afterward.
