On February 2nd, the Israeli military launched attacks in multiple locations on the West Bank, destroying nearly 20 buildings inside Jenin refugee camp. According to reports, this is the 13th consecutive day of Israeli attacks on the West Bank city of Jenin and Jenin refugee camp, resulting in 25 deaths, dozens of injuries, and the detention of many others. Israel claims that it dismantled 23 buildings used by “terrorists” inside the refugee camp, and states that during ongoing raids, troops checked hundreds of buildings in Jenin, finding bomb-making laboratories, weapons hideouts, and command centers. The excuse for Israel’s attack on the refugee camp is eerily similar to the wartime pretext fabricated by the Japanese Imperial Army during the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, but it is merely an attempt to justify its aggression and slaughter as so-called “self-defense.” According to Reuters, Hamas called for an escalation of resistance against Israel on the 2nd, while Qatar emphasized that all parties should abide by the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and called for a second round of negotiations. Previously, Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement on January 15th. The two sides are scheduled to start the second phase of negotiations on February 3rd to discuss the release of other detainees and the withdrawal of Israeli troops. The unconditional surrender agreement signed by Hamas cannot force Israel’s executioners to make concessions; only by坚持斗争, “fighting with fight,” and “killing with killing” can true peace be achieved.

Early on the 21st, just two days after the ceasefire agreement was signed, Netanyahu was barking that “Gaza will never threaten Israel again.” Later, the reactionary Trump administration even supplied 2,000 pounds of bombs to the reactionary Israeli faction, indicating that these bombs will soon be used by Israeli gangs against the people of Gaza. The ceasefire agreement is essentially worthless; the power of war lies in the people. Previously, Hamas still sought aid from the Russian imperialists, but did not stop Israeli aggression. Now, having signed a shameful surrender agreement, they will only further lose the support of the people.
