Politics is the struggle between classes, so political commentary naturally also has class character. Different classes and groups stand on different class positions and make political comments that align with their class interests. It must be pointed out that politics is not, as some bourgeois vulgar ideas understand it, merely bourgeois vote politics or court struggles among a few “big figures” and various political parties. Marx and Engels pointed out that “all class struggles are political struggles”[1], “absolutely abandoning politics is impossible… the question is only how to engage in politics and what kind of politics to engage in.”[2] Therefore, the emergence of all social phenomena is the result of class struggle, and they cannot be separated from the scope of politics; thus, they are within the scope of political commentary and should be.
ㅤㅤThe bourgeoisie always strives to spread the vulgar idea that politics is “the business of a few people,” using various soft or hard means to prevent the masses from broadly understanding, commenting on, and participating in politics, in order to prevent the masses from engaging in class struggle against the bourgeoisie, maintain the capitalist system, and make the rule of a few capitalists and politicians rational and eternal. Therefore, all proletarian organizations and Marxists should take the publication of political commentary as their revolutionary task, guided by Marxist theory to evaluate various social phenomena in capitalist society, criticize the reactionary parts, and praise the revolutionary parts. Chairman Mao pointed out: “To overthrow a regime, one must first create public opinion and do ideological work. This is true for revolutionary classes and counter-revolutionary classes.”[3] Therefore, in order for the socialist revolution to overthrow the capitalist system to proceed smoothly and achieve victory, it is necessary to spread revolutionary public opinion in the form of political commentary, thus instilling revolutionary ideas into the masses, raising their ideological consciousness, uniting the revolutionary organizations of the proletariat, and unifying the understanding among revolutionary Marxists, preparing ideologically for the final revolutionary uprising.
