In the afternoon of June 16, 2025, Xiao Jun (pseudonym), who lives in Yacheng Town, Xiapu County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, was notified along with his mother to the teaching office of the Yacheng Town Police Station for beating someone. During this, the station’s instructor Li briefly let Xiao Jun’s mother leave alone, and then sexually assaulted Xiao Jun in the office.
After the incident, Xiao Jun’s father received the news of his daughter being raped, and exclaimed at once, “How is that possible? The child is lying; someone must bear legal responsibility.” It was not until Xiao Jun’s mother repeatedly called, and the phone conveyed Xiao Jun’s continuous crying, that Xiao Jun’s father gradually realized that his daughter’s words were true.
Under Xiao Jun’s painful recounting and repeated demands for justice, Xiao Jun’s parents finally dialed the police station to question the beastly instructor Li. However, Li denied his monstrous acts and claimed that he was making great efforts to mediate Xiao Jun’s dispute and educate Xiao Jun, and asked Mr. Zhang to bring his wife and daughter to the police station for face-to-face confrontation. “I am here so you can live well in Yacheng,” “Don’t slander the police,” “I will not joke with my own future…” Li even shamelessly said on the phone. Subsequently, Xiao Jun’s father reported the case to the local municipal public security bureau. Nine months later, the belated court verdict restored the events at the time. It showed that after Li asked Xiao Jun’s mother to leave, Xiao Jun was left alone in his office, and Li then coercively claimed that the case against the victim Xiao Jun might be detained, and carried out a monstrous perverse sexual assault on the victim. After the incident, Li did not even erase the crime evidence; multiple traces remained at the scene, shockingly brazen. As the instructor of a police station, a person who clearly knows the law, Li’s brazen acts reflect that he believes himself to be a grand imperial civil servant with enormous privileges; he knows the law but breaks it! However, even with clear evidence of Li raping a girl, Li as the defendant had a crime target who was a minor and could be aggravated; abusing his position to commit the crime could be aggravated; his vile means could be aggravated; considering these circumstances, the court should have imposed heavier punishment, yet the Xiapu court only sentenced Li to the crime of “forcible molestation,” and the first instance judgment was only “2 years and 9 months’ imprisonment.” Yet since the incident, Li and his family never apologized to Xiao Jun; at the trial, they only perfunctorily said “sorry.” This perfunctory reply clearly proves that Li and his family have no remorse for their heinous crime, utterly reactionary and despicable.
For this beastly police rapist, raping a young girl, he will not even bear the label of “rape,” but only a “forcible molestation,” merely a minor stain in life. Even if sentenced to only 2 years and 9 months in prison, he can use various bureaucratic privileges and means to reduce his sentence, erase his sin, and after release, lurk to continue his beastly acts without fear. But what future will Xiao Jun, the victim, face? Xiao Jun’s father said that after the incident she often broke down or had nightmares, had run away from home several times before, and is now in Jiangxi alone. In August 2025, two months after the incident, Xiao Jun’s mother sent a picture of Xiao Jun cutting her own arm with a knife; her arm was stained with blood. Xiao Jun has run away from home multiple times.
In the town where Xiao Jun lives, there are even people with ulterior motives who, using the rhetoric of Confucianism, discuss Xiao Jun’s plight and treat her as a slut, humiliating her, and not pointing fingers at the deeply criminal rapist police. Xiao Jun has run away four times; her friends have gradually distanced themselves. Now Xiao Jun is still outside the area, a 16-year-old girl working alone away from home, and she can no longer live as before.
This case once again nakedly exposes that in China, a social imperialist country, women of lower class status are completely oppressed. The government and violent organs that make and enforce Chinese law openly disregard the law and manipulate it at will. It is evident that today’s Chinese law is a tool of the ruling class. In addition, reactionary Confucian ideas that advocate oppressing women are pervasive in society. In the eyes of these Confucians, after a woman is sexually assaulted, she is seen as “lacking chastity,” as “being careless,” and they discuss it as if the victimized woman is guilty, an existence like a plague. Yet the rapist is not condemned and continues life as before. But these Confucians and oppressors’ cries do not mean they represent the opinions of the broad people; they represent the oppressors, which reveals their stance. The broad laboring people who are oppressed firmly oppose this!
