News sharing: a woman’s ordeal—sexual assault, hidden-camera filming, extortion, assault, attempted killing to silence her, online slander, being taken to a mental hospital, frame-up and false accusation…

I read a news article today and found that the victims’ tragic experiences are not limited to what is shown in this piece.

On October 9, 2025, Zhang (online name “Snow Mountain Fat Fox”) was traveling on train K228 when she had her menstrual period. But due to the middle repair (zhong xiu) suppressing women, Zhang couldn’t buy sanitary pads on the train, so she had to pad herself with clothing, yet she still dirtied the bedding. With just this torn bed sheet, the middle repair railway company issued a sky-high 180 yuan price, threatening the woman to either compensate 180 yuan or have the bed sheet washed.

This innocent woman could not pay the 180 yuan extortion and could only wash the bed sheet by hand. The railway authorities did not provide any tools or laundry supplies to wash, forcing this woman to stand for more than three hours in the autumn-winter season in the north, in the middle of her period, washing the bed sheet and her own clothes with cold water, entirely exposing how cold-hearted and ruthless the officials from the Zhongxiu Railway are with their management and capitalist class.

After the incident, the woman also spoke out online about her ordeal, and then a Lanzhou railway employee privately messaged her, hoping to communicate with her. The employee repeatedly told her: the whole shift would be punished, the whole train crew would have money docked, there might be more deductions next month, the person responsible would be suspended, forty days of relentless work during the Spring Festival travel season would be wasted, and if it continued, she would be fired. The employee also said they would give the woman money, which the victim refused, saying she had never blamed the train crew. Zhang, as a victim oppressed by the capitalist class, is very empathetic toward other oppressed people. She was afraid that ordinary workers (referring to the train crew) would be punished, so she hid her post and repeatedly apologized. However, the Zhongxiu officials used Spring and Autumn rhetoric to smear this woman as if she deliberately dirtied the bed sheet, and even claimed that she dirtied other parts of the train and denied extorting the woman for 180 yuan or punishing employees. A group of male chauvinists seized the opportunity to attack the woman, insulting her with all kinds of foul language simply because she spoke out about the oppressed reality, extremely reactionary and shameless.

Today I checked this woman’s Xiaohongshu account and found that her suffering is far from this single incident. Several years ago, she was deceived and raped by a member of a capitalist family living in Zhujiang New Town. The criminal then launched a large-scale online assault against the victim and even used secretly filmed sexual privacy videos to threaten her. The victim went to the police for help, but was met with the backing of the capitalist elite’s forces who beat her, and they even bought a knife to threaten to silence her. After she reported upward, they pulled her into a psychiatric hospital, directly imprisoning her for fifteen days, during which she was repeatedly forcibly injected with psychiatric drugs. In the end, her family found external experts to prove she did not have a mental illness, forcing the hospital to release her. Before releasing her, the psychiatric hospital extorted nearly 10,000 yuan from her and threatened her to leave the area and not to report again. The victim has fought for years, but with little result, yet she has not given up; she said she would not give up and hopes to help future generations.

Zhongxiu is truly dark and shameless, only capable of helping the ruling class maintain domination over the exploited, this reactionary country should perish.

The Chinese text contains accusations and commentary about gender issues and a high-speed rail incident. Here is the translation:

Middle Correction (Zhongxiu) tends to play with spring and autumn writings in such events, with very malicious intent. The previous Wuhan University Library incident was the same: the reports that appeared objective and fair were actually attacks on the victims, using power machinery to smear them in various ways, and then stirring up male chauvinists and uninformed crowds to attack. In recent days, the high-speed rail sanitary pad incident has been trending, but what circulates online are Zhongxiu’s official reports and the smear campaigns by male chauvinists. In their words, the train operator was generous and considerate, while the female party was unreasonable. The original blogger’s posts providing evidence were repeatedly deleted. Zhongxiu claimed that the entire process involved the train company not charging passengers any fees, but in reality it was a male train attendant who said a bedsheet would cost 180 (not the bedsheet + bedding blanket as stated in the notice); you either pay or wash it yourself. Zhongxiu said the attendant first brought warm water to assist the passenger in cleaning, then the passenger washed in a sink, and they also claimed that during the process the train chief politely advised the passenger to let the train company wash it, but in fact she was forced to wash the entire time in cold water until it was finished, her hands red and blistered, before someone brought over a bucket.
The woman had brought her own sanitary pads, but the journey was long and her period irregular, and the high-speed rail did not provide pads, so it was quite normal for the bedsheet to get soiled. This in itself is the cruel outcome caused by the barbaric patriarchy that Zhongxiu represents, which, driven by commercial interests, would sell toys, sell playing cards, or provide lighters on the high-speed rail but would not provide sanitary pads—essentials for half of the population—thus harming women. Now this incident has sparked a discussion online about “whether it is necessary to sell sanitary pads on high-speed rails” (in fact, similar discussions existed long ago, and male chauvinists provocatively claimed that menstruation could be contained, viciously attacking women as pretentious). This is happening while the involved party had preserved a large amount of evidence. In the past, to protect frontline railway staff, people stayed silent for sympathy; now, pressed to clear her name, the woman publicly posted this, and her initial post was simply to call for the railway to provide sanitary pads. One can only say Zhongxiu is too insidious and reactionary.

A female rights blogger exposed that Zhang Haitao, deputy section chief of the Internet Information Section of the Publicity Department of the Lanzhou Municipal Party Committee of the China Railway Corp, viciously insulted Zhang on Weibo and urged netizens to report via the State Council mini-program, which can be seen as a symbol of the personification of the male-dominated power of China Railway. He used condoms to crudely analogize sanitary pads, slandered Zhang for colluding to gain attention and boost traffic, claiming he did it “for traffic with no bottom line” (he preemptively villainized). He also threatened her with “who sues who may not win.” It was later found that he was the same person who privately messaged Zhang on Xiaohongshu asking her to delete the post.

It can be said that China Railway bureaucrats all outwardly appear virtuous, but behind the scenes they are the kind who think with their lower body, whose minds are full of using bourgeois tyranny to persecute people. That line, “You who have no bottom line for traffic should all be sent to the Iranian front to taste the bitter taste of the American devils; you will surely feel very爽” (the original expresses a strong, provocative insult), truly embodies the rotten smell of the ruling class of China Railway to the utmost.
