Magpie's School Diary

Today I have been thinking about Liu Xia Qian Ren 0 and Feng Huo’s analysis of my family. The bourgeoisie is a group that attempts to restore capitalism during socialist construction. The working class is the stratum with significant income changes. Those who own the means of production and hire labor are the capitalists. Those who own a small amount of means of production are petty bourgeoisie. My parents indeed exploited the blood and sweat of the working people, otherwise it cannot be explained why their wages are much higher than the actual value of the labor produced.

The history class discussed transportation after the Industrial Revolution. The description of technology in the textbook seems objective but conceals the underlying class stance. When talking about the development of railways, it quoted Lenin’s statement but then added, “British colonizers built a large number of railways in India, which objectively promoted the improvement of infrastructure.” What an objectivity! In the hands of the bourgeoisie, even the most advanced technology will only become a shackle to enslave the proletariat. The old nine of history also provided us with some materials and asked us to answer questions. For example, there is material about the development of British railways, and the question is the reasons for the development of British railways between 1850-1870. The steps to solve such problems are to analyze the question, look at the historical period, and find the perspective. For instance, one answer is that the use of new energy sources stimulated greater demand. I wonder what the history education of the proletarian republic looks like.

Physics class was a quiz. After the exam, the whole class was bombed and all were checking answers. Math class discussed the relationship between the monotonicity of the derivative and the antiderivative. Chinese class discussed Huang Tingjian’s “Climbing the Fast Pavilion” from the feudal bureaucrat perspective. These people are oppressed by imperial power on one hand and exploit the laboring people on the other. Therefore, they use the so-called “forgetfulness mechanism” to indulge in self-delusion. Reading such poetry too much not only erodes the fighting spirit but also makes one content to be a spiritual aristocrat—that is, a servant of the ruling class. They don’t even need their master’s reward! Putting such content into textbooks is truly insidious.

The recommended must-read materials on modern Chinese history and ancient Chinese history seem to be compiled as textbooks. I believe that the history education in socialist countries definitely won’t be like the current revisionism, which, based on exam-oriented education and score-centric thinking, condenses thousands of years of history into a few thin books, then either skips over or abstractly mentions the revolutionary struggles of the working people and the economic foundations and modes of production of each era. It focuses on emperors and generals as the main points, turning all historical knowledge into “knowledge points” for rote memorization, so that students only remember some nouns and fixed sentence patterns without truly understanding the logical development of human history. Currently, the humanities in revisionism—history, geography, politics—are essentially the same: they are just about dividing knowledge points and having students memorize them. It can even be said that teachers are unnecessary; students can just follow the PPTs and underline in the textbooks. The purpose of classes is only to not miss some “exam points” that are not mentioned in the textbooks. The summarized exam knowledge printed by schools is even thicker than the textbooks.

Our school’s Laojiu (senior teachers) are all very impressive regardless of their resumes and educational backgrounds, but during classes, there are hardly any students listening in our class. Some university professors come to our school to give lectures, but there are not many students attending. They all attend after-school classes because those classes are meant to help you improve your grades; without improving grades, you simply can’t get by. On one hand, the school’s Laojiu are formally trained, so they do know these things, but after all, those are not aimed at grade improvement. Additionally, the school emphasizes what is called “quality education,” so even during classes, hardly anyone listens. The most outrageous thing was once when I heard a classmate repeat a certain content five times; could he possibly not learn it well? We shamelessly deprive the children of workers and peasants of their right to education.

Indeed. Do you, magpie, want to fight to end such shameless living? Feel free to share your views on fighting against the old family system with us.

Moreover, bourgeois education is completely harmful and useless for the children of workers and peasants. Lenin once said, “The generation of workers and peasants in such schools is more like being enslaved by the bourgeoisie than being educated. The purpose of educating these youths is to train useful servants for the bourgeoisie, who can create profits for the bourgeoisie without disturbing their peace and leisure.” The current education system in the middle schools is just like that, teaching a bunch of dead, useless, or even toxic things to students, causing them to detach from social practice and live parasitically off their parents. Even for the children of workers and peasants, living this parasitic life every day, they will become corrupted and degenerate into selfish, narrow-minded petty-bourgeois students. However, “the children of workers and peasants should take charge early,” and many of them now leave the bourgeois schools early to engage in wage labor to lighten their families’ burdens, but this is just parasitic student life.

The teachers of the intermediate school are merely mouthpieces of the intermediate school, serving as loudspeakers for reactionary ideas. The knowledge these old nine possess is also bourgeois knowledge, that is, how to maintain bourgeois rule; they fundamentally do not understand historical materialism. Chairman Mao said, “Since the emergence of class society, there are only two kinds of knowledge in the world: one called productive struggle knowledge, and the other called class struggle knowledge. Natural sciences and social sciences are the crystallization of these two kinds of knowledge, and philosophy is a summary and generalization of natural and social knowledge.” These old nine, detached from productive struggle and real class struggle, cannot possibly have true knowledge.

Today in 1883 is the day Marx passed away, and it should be a day to commemorate this revolutionary mentor of the proletariat and working people worldwide, the spiritual leader of the proletariat. However, because this day is also called Pi Day, schools hold math activities and even invite professors to give lectures. Currently, Zhongxiu seeks to establish a monopoly in science and technology, hoping to cultivate a group of so-called “top innovative talents” to serve as the vanguard. Their methods are numerous, such as cooperation between universities and high schools, offering elective courses, research studies, and so on. Ironically, these efforts have yielded little effect, which is not surprising given that capitalist sympathizer Qian Xuesen raised the “Qian Xuesen Question.” Nowadays, schools like Qingbei (Tsinghua and Peking University) lack truly talented and knowledgeable individuals. Not to mention Qingbei, even the so-called “Qian Xuesen Class” elites are well-versed in speculation but completely clueless about genuine production struggles. Professors who know this are frantic, saying, “Some of our students treat university like high school, some are already in ‘High Twelve’ (senior year of high school), yet they haven’t entered university for a year.”

I used to think that although history and Chinese were of little use and my posture was still crooked, science and English were still useful. Now it seems that those so-called top students are just opportunists built up by educational resources. However, even now, I still hold illusions about school, such as transformers in physics, which are already the most basic things. Are these also useless? As for what to do, I still lack the courage to break away from the old ownership system. After all, I am already the most useless among a group of opportunists; I don’t even know how to opportunistically.

At People’s Square, the screw said, “Not understanding Marxism-Leninism can be learned, understanding China’s situation can be researched, read articles and posts written by Fenghuo and organized groups; even without fighting experience, you can ask everyone. But to say dropping out and working is impulsive blind obedience—that’s anti-communist.” I didn’t quite understand this sentence. Under conditions where I don’t fully understand Marxism-Leninism and China’s situation, and after only eliminating wrong options (getting into a good university for a good job) without fully understanding the correctness of the route proposed by the forum, I am about to start taking action, and it is a very radical action. Calling this impulsive blind obedience isn’t wrong, right?

May Day believes that capitalists will only become happier the more they exploit, and impossible to feel more guilty the more they exploit. I disagree with the first half; capitalists are also alienated to varying degrees by capital. Therefore, their inner selves are extremely empty. To find a “spiritual sustenance,” some study Buddhism (Wang Wei), some attend philosophical lectures, and some even crazily seek material stimulation (Epstein case). It is hard to imagine what breakthroughs they would make in crossing human moral boundaries if brain-computer interfaces and other technological achievements appear in the future.

No one told you to act immediately now, to throw a backpack and walk out of the university, how can it be that simple. From this perspective, if you go now, you are indeed a bit impulsive, and it’s under the condition that you and your parents have exposed nearly all of your political positions. But what I opposed at the time was mainly your so-called “spiritual priest” remarks, and I put them together with some previous remarks by right-wing elements attacking the forum association. In short, the argument is that “the association instructs minors to engage in illegal activities,” and “the association corrupts the youth”—these are contradictory and fallacious.

Not fully understanding Marxism-Leninism and China, you can now completely go read various posts on the forum to learn; a person’s understanding is not static. If you don’t understand whether the forum’s route is correct and you have doubts, many comrades have already fought to drop out, rupture with their old families, and come out to work to proletarianize. Some comrades who previously had skilled jobs even decided to abandon their skilled jobs. I will also follow this route in the future. Everyone’s practice has proven the correctness of the organizational line, and precisely because of this correct line, the forum’s influence will continue to grow, and it will attract more reactionaries to hate and insult. Fenghuo had already spoken at a study session before: the association members all take pride in being proletariat.

In contrast, the reactionary leftist group led by the association’s traitors, “Continue to Correct Society,” does not oppose the 二次元 (two-dimensional world, i.e., anime/manime subculture) and does not oppose pornographic thought; their pleasure is in writing dark fiction and spreading rumors attacking the association, being ignorant and ignorant, shrinking in their own small circle, and yet trying to wear a layer of “Marxism-Leninism” red skin. Their organization and website, no search would show them, but the forum and the association have spread far. I remember there were even screenshots of association articles that people from Baidu Tieba came to the forum with.

If exploitation is to make them suffer, why don’t they just give up and stop? Won’t they exploit people anyway? Without exploiting others, their bourgeois, luxurious, decadent life cannot be sustained. They genuinely enjoy such a life; they think this is the most normal and the most reasonable life.

I also disagree with your defense of the capitalists. First, what you say about “capitalists being alienated by capitalism” is nonsense. As Marx said, the capitalist is the personification of capital. Capitalists do not care about workers’ lives or deaths; as long as the workers have breath, they will be severely exploited, and their only concern is their own money. You defend the capitalists, saying they are “internally utterly hollow,” as if they were pitiful. Please open your eyes and take a good look at what the workers have become under the capitalists you sympathize with.

I can talk specifically about this so-called “hollow.” I didn’t know Wang Wei before, but after hearing you say this, I went to investigate. I found a self-authored article of his entitled: Buddhism Taught Me Spiritual Support. He first says: “Buddhism brings inner calm, and understanding the causal relationships within it can be enlightening.” What does this mean from this dog capitalist? We can continue reading his next paragraph:

I increasingly realize that what we call success today actually comes from what was accumulated in previous lives, and in this process, the so-called ability or inability is only a fortune brought about by favorable conditions combining luck, place, and harmony.

Isn’t this implying that workers should admit that this monstrous creature did not rise by exploiting people, but by some kind of “fortune” and “good karma”? Isn’t this asking workers to meekly, “innerly calm,” accept the exploitation and oppression by capitalists? Wang Wei, this capitalist, pulling out Buddhism, is not about finding “spiritual support,” but about deceiving the workers and dulling the workers’ fighting spirit. Such people are despicable, and like all capitalists, we should not give them a shred of defense.

What you learn at the scholarly institution is all impractical and useless. Actually you’re not worried about whether transformers are useful, but worried that if you stop studying, you won’t be able to survive.

If you’re bad at speculation, you’ll end up unable to give up speculation. The magpie should want to live a parasitic life and thus won’t give it up, right?

You’re right. But my thoughts also haven’t been sorted out.

It turns out the impact now is so wide-reaching.

After joining the forum, my petty bourgeois fanaticism has started to flare up again. The specific manifestation is that I am less focused on doing things than before. This is because my revolutionary outlook is wrong. I used to think that revolution was something I had never done before, so it felt very novel. I should see revolution as an ordinary matter like eating, drinking, or even breathing. To achieve this, I need to establish a collective consciousness. No matter where I go, I can’t just think of myself; I need to see the collective and class interests. Therefore, theoretically, I must insist on studying. In practice, on one hand, I must adhere to a frugal and simple lifestyle, which I can think of as: 1. sleeping on the ground; 2. taking fewer showers; 3. doing more household chores at home, at least 2 hours of housework on weekends when at home. On the other hand, I need to practice in daily life. Due to long-term indulgence and luxury, my plans are relatively conservative: working the day shift and night shift at the logistics park on Sundays.

In the past, my studying was for myself. This view is wrong. Studying for oneself makes it impossible to see the truth. Therefore, only studying for broader interests, only standing from the oppressed’s perspective, is correct. In the past, I was not focused enough when studying because I studied for myself, so I studied when I wanted and stopped when I didn’t want to, gradually forming a lazy attitude. A person with awareness, who studies for the collective, will definitely not relax their self-discipline. In the past, I did not seek thorough understanding in my studies, just going through the motions day by day. A true revolutionary should, like Comrade Lenin, be meticulous about studying, not allowing any misunderstandings. This is because revolutionaries study for the needs of the revolution; any ignorance in the revolution can cause endless harm. In the past, none of my plans for Lenin’s schedule succeeded. The “Guide to Ideological Struggle” mentions how to plan. I still need to review and think about it.

Here, I also want to clarify my attitude towards studying. I rarely ask questions. On one hand, I am not good at asking questions; this is a technical issue and relatively easy to solve. On the other hand, I am afraid to ask questions. I attended a so-called key middle school, where both Old Nine and petty bourgeois classmates could ask questions about learning issues; although they are reactionary, they could still answer my questions. Why don’t I ask? Because of inferiority. Why inferiority? Because I don’t want to make mistakes. Why don’t I want to make mistakes? Because I want to be a saint, and saints can trample on others at will. Therefore, only by studying for the revolution and for the collective can I treat studying as a serious matter, and only then can I ask questions and be good at asking questions.

Frugality and simplicity do not necessarily mean taking fewer showers, unless objectively not allowed. If you have a bed to sleep on, you don’t need to sleep on the floor. Frugality and simplicity are not about seeking hardship for oneself, but about not pursuing material and spiritual pleasures, maintaining a lifestyle similar to that of the working masses, engaging in labor, study, and struggle.

What exactly does xique do that he is less focused on than before?

Indeed, there is no need for ascetics to do this. In fact, once you go to the factory and have nowhere to sleep at noon, you will naturally sleep on cardboard, sleeping with the workers. By that time, you won’t be troubled by this issue anymore. Forcing yourself to sleep on the ground without showering can actually cause some health problems, and workers are actually very clean and will ensure their own health. Conversely, those parasitic petty bourgeoisie are unwilling to take showers. That is purely laziness. Because if you don’t shower, then you need to wash clothes and bedding more often, which can harm your health, and it’s completely counterproductive. Doing household chores is acceptable and necessary, but more importantly, you should dedicate twice the effort to studying revolutionary theory, communicating and posting with others, attracting more people to our forum, and engaging with Marxism. These revolutionary activities are the greatest test of a person and also the best way to train oneself. To do well in them, one must often engage in arduous ideological struggles.

Today when I was replying to a new member post, I made a very ridiculous mistake, even slandering the revolutionary mentor. This reflects a long-standing, highly lax personalist lifestyle recently. I need to reflect seriously in the coming days. At the same time, due to a stage victory in the struggle, I relaxed vigilance toward class enemies. They have started to resurge lately.

The 20th was originally to work the night shift. But the agency suddenly said they were not hiring anymore, yet they did not remove the posting.

My parents went to see a psychological pastor again today. They came back and asked if I have any physiological problems (because earlier I told them I skipped school by saying that looking at the textbook assignments was like seeing bugs). I said I do. They were very worried about me and wanted me to see a psychological pastor by myself, or go to the hospital. This worry of mine and the worry of Ko Kobayashi Kitōji’s mother are not the same; my parents’ worry is to uphold private property, and is reactionary. Of course I know this is made up, and even if there really were such problems, they are related to social movements and must be solved through ideological struggle. So I told them first that this problem is caused by society and has nothing to do with me. Isn’t it enough to stop looking at those school things? But they still did not believe, saying there would be more serious risks in the future. Then I changed my stance and said that seeing bugs is just a metaphor. But by then they already didn’t believe me.

Later, they insisted that I go to the hospital or see a psychological pastor, and that I must do so. I told them: “This is a problem with the school; why can’t you listen? You say you want to ensure my health while also pressuring me; in reality the more you pressure me, the worse my condition will become. If you pressure me again, I will commit suicide!” After saying this, I went into the room and locked the door. After a while, my mother, in a pleading tone, said they wouldn’t force me. Out of caution, I didn’t give a definite answer, but said, “I’ll think about it.”

Today is the 3.15 Evening Gala. In order to consolidate the reactionary rule of official capital, they have to continuously exclude their so-called “allies,” namely private capitalism, from the ruling class.

A few days ago, something happened. A classmate in our class has a friend who gave our class a very vicious birthday gift—a book about female pregnancy. I tried to persuade that “friend” to realize his mistake, but he kept sneering and showed no intention of reform. In the end, he dropped a line, “Mind your own business,” and left. My original plan was to persuade the classmate to cut off contact with his “friend,” and have the “friend” take the “birthday gift” back and apologize to our classmate. However, before the plan could be carried out, things changed. Our classmate also played well with his “friend.” Even more exasperating, at that time we were studying Lu Xun’s “The True Story of Ah Q,” and Lao Jiu asked us to submit an essay. Our class didn’t know who wrote a piece in which Ah Q was replaced with a student in the grade who behaved oddly. His opportunistic thinking and near-worship of grades are very serious. I didn’t see the article, but I can imagine how the piece viciously smeared and mocked that student without bottom line. The article was seen by 78 classmates in the class, including the classmate who was given the “birthday gift” mentioned above. Seeing him bullying others and being bullied himself, I don’t want to care about him anymore. Regarding the controversy about “The True Story of Ah Q,” I must stop this behavior, and this behavior also tarnishes the great revolutionary Lu Xun.

My situation is: I have never dealt with such matters before, and I have no experience; I have no friend in the class or in the grade who is familiar with me; besides, the disturbance will soon pass. Most importantly, I don’t know whether the odd-behaved student is also someone who bullies others or is bullied by others; I only know that his opportunistic thinking is very serious. If he is that kind of person, I don’t want to care about it. Do comrades think this kind of thinking is correct? Also, how should I conduct this struggle? Seek Lao Jiu? Contact the student who was slandered? I hope comrades can guide me.

(Not finished, more to come)

fxyc asked me what I am doing that I am not as focused as before. The main thing is my studies. But my situation is indeed quite bad. In my mind, I don’t know what to do next. In actions, I didn’t complete the two tasks of writing “my porn thoughts” and working the night shift today.

First, I overestimate my awakening and execution. Second, porn thoughts are a stubborn illness in my brain; some content I don’t even want to recall or think about because it is too shameful. Besides, I didn’t prepare at all before starting the night shift; the only thing I did was buy work gloves. So, I plan to gradually complete the portion of “my porn thoughts” in elementary and kindergarten education over the course of a week. Also, I will read Marxism and the forums to prepare my mindset for the night shift.

I want to gradually give up opportunism. My plan is to stop listening to history and Chinese classes; they are useless and just produce ideological output. I will still do my homework, though not with effort. Other subjects stay the same; I will study as I should.

Exercise is necessary. The plan is to run two kilometers every day.

Reading Marx and Lenin is necessary. The plan is to read “Origin of Family, Private Property and the State” every day in Chinese and history classes. If you don’t understand, reread it; quantity is not the goal. There are two questions: one is the relationship between clan and Punaluya family (Ponaluya?), I didn’t quite understand. The other is that the book mentions that among higher vertebrates there exists “the male’s jealousy,” but the primitive humans that transitioned from there acted in groups, so the previous situation does not exist. I think this turn is too abrupt, I don’t know what conditions and environments formed it. I still need to look into these two areas. Also, I don’t know whether the edition affects reading.

My daily schedule is not regular enough, which makes my spirit wither. So, I need a reasonable routine, including when to sleep and wake, when to exercise, and when to engage in speculation.

Tomorrow during the mid-term vacation, there will be actions taken against the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, and I don’t know what conspiracies or schemes are behind it.
