Introduction to Visiting Lin Biao’s Hideout (Lin Biao)
Lin Biao, this ambitious, conspiratorial, two-faced traitor and sellout, has thoroughly bourgeoisified himself in thought, politics, and life, rotten to the core. Below are some details of visiting Lin Biao’s hideout, for critique and inspection (review).
Lin Biao’s hideout is a new “Forbidden City.” His previous residence was over 600 square meters, now it is 10,600 square meters. Many items in the hideout are stolen from the Forbidden City, and his life is very luxurious. The hideout is opposite Dingqiao Gas Station, surrounded by high walls. The main gate leads to a three-story building housing guards and secretaries, with artificial mountains at the entrance, decorated very luxuriously, with mushroom-shaped tables and chairs, and flower beds.
Inside the gate are houses with two walls, as Lin Biao required the room temperature to be 20°C. The living area is very high, about two stories tall. Behind the entrance is a corridor, originally a reception room, very large, furnished with sofas, leather chairs, the sofas are deep green goose down, with two globes inside, over half a meter tall. Thermometers are placed on the sofas and windows. The floor is made of small square wood, the chandelier is dim, so the lights are not visible, but the lighting is even, bright, and not glaring.
Opposite the reception room is Lin Biao’s office, which has no desk or office supplies, only a Chairman Mao portrait (which was removed after the central leaders’ visit). Lin works on the sofa, with a cloth-covered cushion on it, similar cushions are on his car seats, and there are thermometers inside.
The office also has a bedroom suite. Upon entering, there is a folding screen with over 200 calligraphy characters, reportedly Lin’s interest in medicine; doctors give him treatments, and he prescribes himself. On the screen are writings:
- Eating walnuts causes chills
- Pork belly cannot be eaten
- Eating crabs causes chills on the back of the feet
- Drinking tea causes sweating
- Potatoes cause diarrhea
And so on.
A paper is pasted behind the screen, with one side recording temperature, and the other side what clothes to wear at that temperature. There are three phones on the bed, and a music box said to be taken from the Forbidden City. The room is decorated with many inscriptions, written by Lin for Ye and Ye for Lin, such as:
“Different blue hearts, same heat; different quilts, same grave” (Lin’s letter to Ye, February 20, 1971)
“Some intelligence is endless (the two characters are unclear), eternal companionship” (Ye’s letter to Lin, March 18, 1970)
Also:
“Ashes buried together after death to commemorate close companionship. In hardships, shoulder to shoulder, fighting for a beautiful future — to good wife and comrade Ye Qun.”
“Forty years ago, at the old site, countless glories and honors, firm belief in Marxism-Leninism, no doubt about the blazing fire” (Lin’s note from 1969 at Jinggangshan)
“Endure the tiger’s den temporarily, recognize the hero and be shocked; cleverly borrow the thunder to cover, adapt to circumstances as if divine” (Lin’s attack on the proletarian command from the “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”)
There is also a banner with the phrase “悠悠万事,惟此为大,克己复礼” (All matters are trivial, only this is great, self-restraint and restoring rites), which he hangs as his guiding principle, constantly longing to restore capitalism.
Lin Biao, this monster, has not bathed for eight years, and has not washed his face for ten years (some say he uses massage as a substitute). He is animal-like, not washing his face or bathing. He defecates on the bed because he fears cold, first wrapping his waist with cotton, then removing his trousers.
Near the sleeping room, there is a special garage equipped with a hairdryer, because he drives a car that needs to blow cold air. Next to it is a sunbathing room with ultraviolet rays directly shining in, with two large glass panes worth 200 yuan.
Further back is an indoor swimming pool, built with hexagonal tiles in 1969. Lin does not swim; it is for Huang, Wu, Ye, Li, Qiu, and their families. The water temperature is maintained at 32°C. There are toilets, showers, and a massage bed.
On the right is Lin Biao’s calligraphy and painting room, filled with ancient calligraphy and paintings stolen from the Forbidden City, as well as some foreign pieces. The Chinese ones are quite valuable, such as works by Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, and others, totaling over 3,000 pieces. There are also large boxes containing authentic and rare books, including Song Dynasty calligraphy and paintings, as well as various inkstones, totaling 172, including some used by famous historical figures.
Next to it is a movie room capable of accommodating 20-30 people. Adjacent to the calligraphy and painting room is an antique room with some precious items and many unknown objects. There is a chicken blood stone elephant, leaf-shaped, with chicken blood-colored translucent stone. It is said that during the past, the Japanese captured Puyi, and Puyi had a chicken blood stone seal, which he refused to hand over.
There is a ceramic jar, said to be an antique and very valuable, along with many other items. Most were given by Lin’s close friends; the majority were stolen from the Forbidden City with the help of Chen Boda.
Lin Doudou has a suite with a bed, desk, chairs, and a couplet written by Lin Biao:
“Smile, and you will be ten years younger; worry, and your hair will turn white. — To daughter Lin Doudou”
Lin Liguo’s room is also a suite, with three phones, empty cabinets, and inscriptions:
“Do not say idle words as idle words; often wisdom comes from idle words.”
(August 1, 1966, Ye studying the spirit of “Wei Bian San Jue”)
Next to the conference room is Ye Qun’s office. At the door is a room with a wardrobe, Ye Qun’s room, very luxurious. The office has a standing TV capable of playing, recording, and singing, imported from West Germany. There are Chinese paintings, books, and inscribed Lin’s poetry on inkstones, as well as imported foreign toys such as:
- Telescope
- Teaware (which reveals a woman’s or child’s face after pouring water)
There are also photos of Ye, five telephones, a photo of Lin Biao with the “Four Major Generals,” a photo of Lin Liguo holding Huang Yongsheng’s child, and photos of foreign women. Lin Liguo’s bugging devices for Huang and Ye are attached to the phones.
Ye’s room has a large bed and a small bed. The small bed is for Ye’s massage, with two young men and a young woman giving her massages. There are twelve wardrobes containing gemstones, agate, and ivory carvings. There is also a birdcage with a pair of fake chickens that sound like real ones. There is a toy doll that can cry, laugh, hit, and jump. Other crafts and items are also present.
On the bookshelf are yellow novels like “Jin Ping Mei” and “Hua Ru Mei.” The large bed is for sleeping, with an electric temperature regulator and a music box for hypnosis. There is a poem written by Lin Biao on the bed:
“Taihu as a mirror on the bed, with stone cabinets as chairs and stools, sitting gracefully on the cliff, happy to see the prosperity of the motherland.”
There are also many photos of foreign men and women in the nude, and 3,000 records of decadent music, such as “Haha opens the door,” “Eighteen Touches,” “Shimi sings,” etc.
Ye’s boxes contain:
- 66 pairs of nylon socks
- 129 pairs of other socks
- 7 wool and cotton coats
- 44 pieces of wool-lined underwear
- 48 sweaters and trousers
- 99 nylon clothes and trousers
- 46 scarves
- 18 pillowcases
- 303 silk scarves
- 171 shirt collars
- 76 nylon tops
- 56 wool trousers
Next to the room is Ye Qun’s antique room, with fourteen cabinets, thirteen of which hold antiques, and one with various fans. The antique room has five plastic boxes, which can emit various fragrances.
Lin Biao’s antiques were partly obtained through Chen Boda writing notes to the Forbidden City officials to send people to fetch them. The notes say: “Ancient people went to the Forbidden City to fetch antiques, whatever they wanted, give it to them.” Another part was stolen during the Red Guard house searches, some are collector’s treasures, and some were gifts, such as Huang and Wu’s letter:
“Just arrived from the airport, passing by an antique shop, found a very good inkstone, bought and sent it, wishing XX health, wishing Ye and Lin Liguo health.”
It is said that there are two very valuable pieces.
Ye’s room has a bathroom with a bathtub five times larger than a normal one. It has an electric toothbrush (imported from Japan), and all cosmetics are imported, with Parisian perfume (which automatically dispenses water). Lin and Ye’s offices and rooms contain various contraceptive devices.
Exhibition Room Displaying Counter-Revolutionary Equipment
Another room displays counter-revolutionary equipment, including:
- Tape recorders
- Bugging devices
Visitors saw movies, recordings, and three “beauties” who confessed, including two who planned to escape but were left behind at Shanhaiguan Airport due to time constraints.
- One had a better attitude, bowed his head, and looked ashamed;
- Another was indifferent and still smiling;
- The third was in military uniform, only a photo.
There is also a record of a film, which we watched, “Liguo Tours Badaling.” The little Lin Biao is stout but wears very small pants, looking like an American soldier. Inside, there is also an imported color TV, which, according to the guide, initially could not be turned on because it was not available domestically.
Various Luxurious Items and Spy Equipment
There are also 48 clocks of very special styles. Imported daily necessities are also present, some so shocking that they are hard to describe, resembling a brothel. Some items are completely unfamiliar, and their use is unknown.
There is a telescope with a camera, capable of taking pictures of whatever it sees at any time. There are also phones and communication devices, including three “special” phones, which Lin Liguo can monitor wherever he goes.
There is a recording phone that can record calls when the person is absent, and upon return, he can listen to who called and what was said just by picking up the phone.
Other items include:
- Handguns
- Daggers
- Electric record players
- Recorders
- Bugging devices, etc.
Lin Liguo’s room contains many phones with various special tools installed. Anyone within five meters of his room will hear a doorbell ring, and the lights inside will turn on, alerting him to someone outside. All these are spy devices…
